Here’s the 36th photo from the bundle of Batley St. Mary of the Angels school photos I’ve been given. I have been sharing them over the past few months in the hope people might enjoy seeing them, recognise themselves, school friends or family members, and be able to put names to faces.
I have been given the following names so far.
- Top Row – from left to right: 1 Miss Moynahan, 2 John Gilbert, 3 Jean McNamara, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Jeanette Hazlegrave, 10, 11,
- Middle Row – from left to right: 12, 13 Gerard Farrar, 14, 15 Linda McIntyre, 16 Shaun Warren, 17, 18, 19, 20,
- Bottom Row – from left to right: 21, 22 Michael Mann? 23 Susan Chew, 24 Anne Waite, 25 Alan Barclay, 26 Terry Munns, (Peter Newsome was also suggested, but the majority said Terry Munns), 27, 28, 29 Susan Passaway, 30 Marie Woodhead, 31 Anne Waters
There have been many comments about the teacher who was infamous for threatening – and hitting – children with her stick which she named Sally. She also used to put children in the dark storeroom cupboard with its clay-filled dustbins, which she name the glory hole.
If anyone has any corrections, can confirm the ones with question marks or can fill in the blanks, please do get in touch.
