The school swimming team succeeded in winning the Talbot Shield for the seventh time. The medal for the fastest schoolboy swimmer in Batley was won by a boy from this school.

First anniversary of Armistice celebrated in the school. The King’s letter was read to the pupils shortly before 11.0. a.m. and the service of “silence and remembrance” took the form of prayers for the Dead.

Boys taken to Bradford Rd. at 10 a.m. to see Tank. Returned 11.30 a.m.

The Secretary having given permission for a tea-party to be held by Stds. III & IV, the time-table will be suspended in their class room from 3 o’clock this afternoon. Work will be carried on as usual in the higher stds. classroom.

A certificate was presented to the school this morning by the B.S.C.P. in recognition of the help given by the boys in aid of the Children of Blinded Soldiers. The combined collection for all departments was £11: 12s: 9d.
