No20 St. Mary’s School Photo – Can you Identify the Children, Teacher and Year Taken?

This is school photo number 20 from the bundle of Batley St Mary of the Angels I’ve been given. I am sharing them over the next few weeks, possibly months, in the hope people might recognise themselves or family members, and be able to help put names to faces.

If anyone can help identify those on the photo, or knows the year it was taken, please let me know either by commenting via WordPress, or on the social media platform I’ll be sharing it to. For now I’ve numbered everyone on the photo to make that easier.

• Bottom Row – from left to right: 11, 12 Frank Cleghorn, 13, 14 Peter Flatley, 15 Kevin Hopkins, 16, 17

If anyone has any corrections, can confirm the ones with question marks or can fill in the blanks, please do get in touch.

This photo was taken outside what was the boys school, now fallen into disrepair (thanks to Catherine Simpson for this information). The map below shows its location back in 1955/56, showing the long-gone streets near St. Mary’s. Today it adjoins North Bank Road.
