Here’s the 32nd photo from the bundle of Batley St. Mary of the Angels school photos I’ve been given. I have been sharing them over the past few months in the hope people might enjoy seeing them, recognise themselves, school friends or family members, and be able to put names to faces.
Rather than a class photo, this is of a victorious football team from 1962/63 which went through the season unbeaten, and won the local cup competition.
All the team have been identified in the photo and are:
- Top Row – from left to right: 1 Roger Oates, 2 Mr. Terry Finn, 3 Aidan Harkin, 4 Phil Taylor, 5 Finbarr O’Callaghan, , 6 John Waite, 7 Rod Mackenzie
- Bottom Row – from left to right: 8 Terry Carney, 9 David Nowacki, 10 Gerard Breslin, 11 Peter Clay, 12 Peter Lynn
Two more boys from the team – John Roe and Alan Ogden – are missing from the photo.
