A good attendance this morning, the first opening after holidays

A beautiful Christmas Tree, & a present for every child attending school, was provided by the parents & other friends. The Revnd Father Lea distributed the prizes on Thursday afternoon, January 9th 1913.

On account of the heavy fall of snow, only seventy four are present this morning.

There is a little improvement in the attendance this week.
February 4th
This being Shrove Tuesday, holiday is given in the afternoon.

The Revnd Manager visited the school this morning.

The Religious Inspection of this school takes place on Tuesday, February, 18th, 1913
February 21st
The Head Teacher has obtained permission to visit the High Street Council School, Heckmondwyke, on Friday Afternoon, February, 21, 1913.

The attendance this last month has been very bad, especially in the Babies’ room, on account of sickness. As a rule we have the highest attendance for the year, during March.

School re-opened this morning with a low attendance.

New Registers are begun this morning, Tuesday, April 1st, 1913
Fifty seven children have been sent to the Mixed Department.

There are one hundred and twenty three on Registers to begin the year.
Twenty seven are unable to attend school on account of sickness. Whooping Cough, Scarlet Fever & Ringworm.

There is a little improvement in the attendance this week, many children are unable to attend on account of sickness.

Only one hundred & three are present this morning.

In the last two months, they has been much sickness amongst the children, & the work of the school has suffered greatly.
July 2nd
The Summer holidays are put one week later & the schools will be closed for a month, from Friday July 25, 1913 at 12.0 0’clock to Monday August 25, 1913.

All classes examined this week. On the whole, the results are most satisfactory.

A lady visited the school this afternoon.
The attendance has not improved so far, especially in the Babies’ room.

School closes to-day at 12.0 for the Summer Holidays.
August 25th
The School re-opened this morning with a fair attendance.
Four children have been raised to Standard I to-day. They were very backward & being under seven on April 1st, were kept back for one Term.
August 29th
Attendance during this week has been fairly good.

The attendance has improved, average 128, the highest weekly average since April, 1st.

Miss E. Thompson resumed her duties this morning, after an absence of five weeks, having been seriously ill.
Mrs Mullins, who has been supplying from October 17th terminated her engagement on Friday November 15th, 1913.

She is unable to come on account of illness.

Attendance bad this week, many absent with colds.

Schools will break up on Tuesday, December 23, 1913 at 4.0 o’clock in the afternoon, and re-commenced on Thursday, January 8, 1914.
