Below is an aerial shot of St Mary’s Church (where Upton Street is signposted). Dating from circa 1968, it also shows the surrounding streets. Note the cemetery to the north of Crescent Street. Also J., T. and J. Taylor’s Blakeridge Mill to the North West of Upton Street, and beyond that Batley town centre. If you look carefully, several mill chimneys can also be spotted.
